Advice, like youth, probably just wasted on the young

i saw this on patricia gray's blog for the first time. i don't how i missed this back in '99 (oh, ya. i was neck deep in, and freaked out by, 'new baby' mode)

taken from a column in the chicago tribune written by mary schmich (and often, falsely, attributed to kurt vonnegut) it was later put in this form by producer, baz lurhmann.
i just had to post it. i'm sure many of you have seen this. i had to snag it and store it here so that i could frequent it with ease. it's like all of those chain emails and black square magnets, but with visuals.

This is Baz of Romeo and Juliet and Moulin Rouge fame.
I heard this in '99 and all I can think now is why did I not listen about the sunscreen?
Ah Megan, what a great way to end a week. Love the metaphor!
(it's a cryptic Friday for me)

Metaphor, as in 'protect your self/person/soul' for 'sunscreen'.

There is such good advice in this Video that I can listen to it over and over again. "Do one thing everyday that scares you...sing...dance...never read beauty magazines they will only make you feel ugly...get to know your parents, you never know when they will be gone...dance!!
