radio head

i love music. and i'm always on the look out for something new. you know, that great foreign find from the dominican that's perfect for a summertime barb-b-q, or the interesting new cd from that guy, from that one band you loved a few years back. you can ask among your audiophile friends, you can read music reviews, but who has time for that? here are two of my favorite resources: pandora.com pandora is a free service that allows you to set up your own, personalized, 'radio station' minus the commercials. you start by typing in the music or artist that you like, and they, then, create a radio station based on your preferences. if you don't like what they've selected for you, you simply rate it with their thumbs-up, thumbs-down system. cd baby cd baby has been a great resource for new music to me. mainly because, unless, i'm listening to 'nic harcourt' on our local public radio station, i rarely hear about new music (i'm a busy gal). i love to go on cd baby and listen to their "top sellers now" section. they also have this great 'FLAVORS' section, that matches the occasion or mood to music.
